In line with previous years, Wervel organises a Cerrado evening on Wednesday 17 February and this time, it will be online! The topic of this year will be about agroecology in the Cerrado, including collaborative and solidarity based economy, and how it can restore the biodiversity in this unique biome.
The event will be from 19h to 20h with the following agenda:
- short introduction about the Cerrado by Natália de Mello, a volunteer at Wervel.
- two guest speakers, with Q&A:
1. Renata Navega from CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Brasilia Network. She will talk about the importance of CSA for the conservation of the Cerrado.
2. Flaviane Canavesi from the University of Brasilia. She will discuss the most recent scientific findings about the Cerrado and agroecology.
- Louise Amand (Wervel volunteer) will briefly discuss the Cerrado Manifest, which demands a transparent agreement between Mercosur and European Union in regard with the management of the Cerrado biome.
